Do you struggle with a battle within yourself? Are you tired of being your worst enemy? Have you ever wondered why you feel such turmoil within? Do you seem to be constantly fighting the voice inside your head versus the small, still voice that is within your heart?

That still, small voice within your heart is evidence that God is so real and desires you to recognize His dwelling in your heart. All that you have to do is pray that He enter your heart and reside it. Confess that you are a sinner (please do not take the word sinner as offensive)–we all have our issues, we have all sinned and made poor choices and not followed that still small voice nor our instinct. Declare that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and you have just prayed the salvation prayer. You can pray this prayer for the first time or several times after to “re-dedicate” your life which just means that you are re-declaring your commitment to follow Christ. This means that you have invited God to live in your heart and you now have access to communicate directly with God, Jesus and your helper, the Holy Spirit. God is “three in one,” in which we refer to this as the Trinity. The trinity refers to God the Father, Jesus the Son, and The Holy Spirit. Christians refer to this as being “saved” in which you choose to follow God, His will for your life, and do the best you can to allow Him to lead your steps, decisions, actions, words, thoughts, emotions, etc. This process of sanctification then takes place and it is a lifelong journey. We know our desired destination is Heaven, but it is our choice to follow the narrow road which leads us there. Upon our physical death, we enter Heaven in which we meet Jesus. It is not by works that we our saved, but our salvation to Christ!

After praying that prayer and inviting Jesus to dwell within your heart, you now have what I like to refer to as a “best friend” that knows everything about you. He created you and knit you together so uniquely in your mother’s womb. He knows your thoughts before you even think them, He knows your actions even before you act, He knows your reactions even before you react, He sees your future before you even know, and He knows your destiny. He knows everything–He is omniscient. He desires to know you so deeply, intimately and personally. Being a Christian is not about a religion. It isn’t about how many hail Marys you do, it isn’t about how bad you have sinned, etc. He has forgiven us with His mercy and grace. Of course, that doesn’t mean to intentionally keep sinning because He sees that too, but the walk with God is an ever-growing and ever-changing journey. This doesn’t mean you have to be perfect because let’s be real–NO ONE IS. Only God is. He is the same yesterday, today and forever [ Hebrews 13:8]. He never changes, He is the one constant in our life.

I don’t know about you, but I feel so much FREEDOM in knowing this! I know I am taken care of. I am loved. I am strong. I am a daughter of the King. I am His beloved child. And so much more. He never, ever fails us. Every person in our lives will fail us at one point or another with disappointment, betrayal, abandonment and so much more, but God NEVER will! He is so much more than your Earthly parents. If you feel abandoned, lonely, unloved, fatherless, helpless, etc. He is the answer to all of it because you will never be unloved, abandoned, lonely, fatherless, helpless or anything of that nature because He promises to care for you now and forever. Hallelujah!

Take a moment to read this scripture below from the book of Ezekiel. As humans, it is our nature to develop a hard, stony heart because of what life throws at us. Maybe that is just your personality. Maybe you have been abused. Maybe your parents abandoned you. Maybe you are struggling with addiction. Maybe you are struggling with mental illness. Maybe you just received a life-threatening diagnosis. Whatever the circumstance may be, GOD knows the answers, sees you right where you are, meets you right where you stand, and promises to never leave you nor forsake you. He will replace your stony heart with one of flesh!  C’mon somebody, THIS IS THE GOOD NEWS!

Say goodbye to your old self.

and so much more….  345178-Having-A-Soft-Heart-In-A-Cruel-World

24 “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28 Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God. 29 I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. 30 I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine. 31 Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices. 32 I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign Lord. Be ashamed and disgraced for your conduct, people of Israel!

33 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt. 34 The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it.35 They will say, “This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited.” 36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the Lord have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’

37 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Once again I will yield to Israel’s plea and do this for them: I will make their people as numerous as sheep, 38 as numerous as the flocks for offerings at Jerusalem during her appointed festivals. So will the ruined cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” [Ezekiel 36: 24-38]

You no longer have to live with every day dread. You no longer have to fight with your inner self. You no longer have to allow life’s circumstances to determine your destiny. You no longer have to fight your own battles. THE BATTLE IS ALREADY WON. Thank you JESUS!

**I am not disregarding or diminishing the battle of mental illness, because many of us when struggle know that the healing is a process and a journey. BUT, I am saying that God will take care of your every need. He sees you in the midst of your pain (whatever that may look like) and He was and is pursuing you even when you aren’t pursuing Him!**

I’d love to hear if you’ve prayed this prayer, please drop me a comment! Other comments are always welcome and I appreciate them so very much. Much love!
