It’s been awhile…the devil has really been trying to keep me down. Trying to take my voice and the ability to write what the Lord speaks to me. BUT, God’s children never stay captive for He is our rescuer!
F.E.A.R.= FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL!
The feelings of FEAR are so common and REAL. Fear is dangerous. It is addictive. And it is continuous. It rears an ugly head of a cyclic pattern. Once fear kicks in, it turns into a downward spiral and it can be very hard to catch. F.E.A.R. is FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL. This means that fear is a false perception of something that seems as if it is reality but in fact it is not.
Webster’s dictionary defines fear as as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous or a threat, which is likely to cause pain. This literally means that when we have a sense of fear we are convinced that we are experiencing pain due to an upcoming threat. The sense of threat could be real or not, but the physiological reaction does not match the suspected threat. This is where the sympathetic nervous system kicks in and tells our brains that we are in danger= fight or flight. Our body senses that there is danger, similar to what we would actually feel if we saw a lion in the room, but there is in fact, NO LION!
Our minds are amazing. So intriguing, but they do lie to us! It is important to check the facts! Check the fear. Check the REAL, TRUE evidence–many times the fear is exaggerated by our minds.
As the bible states, “God gives NOT a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7). Also, “Do not be afraid/fear, for God is always with you.” (Isaiah 41:10). Be still and let God lead your emotions. For our emotions lie to us…just as our brain does!
I know for me, because I live with severe anxiety disorder, I struggle heavily with determining whether my fears are legitimate or influenced by the devil. But, everyday, I have to remind myself….LET THE DEVIL KNOW, NOT TODAY! NOT TODAY, SATAN! And, NOT EVER!
We have a battlefield in our minds. It is important to put on the armor of Jesus and fight with His strength. For the battle is already won, we just have to walk in victory! Have confidence and know that Jesus goes before us, ALWAYS and FOREVER!
